Swikriti is a self-run women’s collective from Salkia, West Bengal, that began by teaching handicrafts to women from underserved backgrounds. With CRC’s support since 2011, they’ve grown into skilled artisans creating scarves, sarongs, and wall art — earning steady income, gaining confidence, and achieving financial independence.

Why This Piece Matters

Empowering Women Through Craft

United by Craft, Beyond All Barriers
Formed by women from diverse communities, Aashirwaad became a symbol of unity and creativity. After their founder’s passing, CRC guided the group into a new phase of artistic expression. Today, they produce joyful, handmade decorations — and a powerful example of social harmony.
